KaiPals: Bring the ocean home

Project by
Jennifer Bundy
Project Year
2012
Think about something you are really interested in. How did that interest start? Likely it wasn’t completely out of the blue. Interest development is closely tied with past experiences and prior knowledge. Actions to help the environment often stem from an interest in protecting nature that grew out of repeated outdoor experiences starting in childhood. Ocean health is a growing concern, but many children in coastal cities might only get one field trip to the ocean in which interest can be sparked. KaiPals seeks to help trigger this interest by creating meaningful and affective experiences with marine mammals at home.
